Neil Completes the MTC CYMRUN – A Huge Achievement

After months of preparation, determination and resilience, Neil has officially completed the incredible MTC CYMRUN – a six-day ultra endurance challenge covering 256 miles from North to South Wales.

This is no ordinary run. The event spans the length of Wales, with runners tackling ultra-distance stages day after day, pushing both physical and mental limits to the extreme.

A Challenge Like No Other

Neil’s achievement becomes even more impressive when you consider the scale of the challenge:

  • Over 256 miles completed in 6 days
  • More than 22,000ft of elevation climbed
  • Only 9 participants started, with just 7 completing the full event

This is an event designed for experienced ultra runners, with each day effectively a marathon-plus distance, making completion alone a huge accomplishment.

Highs, Lows and Everything In Between

Like any ultra endurance event, the journey was filled with unforgettable moments.

Neil’s favourite part of the challenge was taking in the incredible Welsh scenery, with stunning views throughout the route. Along the way, he also valued the opportunity to meet other runners, learning from those who regularly compete in ultra-distance events and sharing the experience together.

But it wasn’t all smooth running.

The toughest day came on Day 2 (Wednesday), where Neil battled through 10 hours of relentless gale force winds and heavy rain. Conditions like this test not just physical endurance, but mental strength — and getting through it was a defining moment of the challenge.

Supporting an Important Cause

Now that Neil has completed this incredible feat, the focus turns to something just as important.

His donation page is now live, raising money for Cancer Research - a cause that impacts so many people and families.

Every mile run was for a reason, and now is the time to show support.

Please Support Neil

If you’ve followed Neil’s journey, or simply want to support an incredible effort for a great cause, please consider donating.

Completing the MTC CYMRUN is a huge achievement in itself - but turning that effort into support for an important cause makes it even more meaningful.
