December is a hectic time for anyone in retail, but what do the figures say about how the festive season turned out?
The UK Grocery market had its best ever Christmas yet, with total grocery sales reaching the £12 billion point. Not only this, but total coverage saw a Year-on-Year growth as retailers reported record sales figures for December on the back of strong demand and high inflation. Lastly, UK impulse remained a challenging market when looking at Year-on-Year unit growth, but Warburtons, who are a Procuria supplier, still managed to reach its highest share position of 24.6% (units), the highest since May 2021.
