Neil is stepping up to take on a brand new endurance challenge, the MTC CYMRUN, a six-day ultra marathon spanning the length of Wales, in aid of Cancer Research.
In April 2026, Neil will line up at the start of this incredible event, organised by Ultra Running Ltd. The race covers a staggering 256 miles from Holyhead to Barry Island, pushing competitors to their limits across some of the most scenic, and demanding, terrain in the UK.
The CYMRUN isn’t just one ultra marathon. It’s six consecutive ultra distances in six days:
That’s an average of more than 42 miles per day - the equivalent of running a marathon every single day for nearly a week.
Runners must maintain strict cut-off times and a minimum average pace of 4mph. With limited entry numbers and relentless mileage, this is a true test of endurance, resilience and mental strength.
For Neil, this challenge is about pushing personal limits while raising awareness and support for a cause close to his heart. Employees at procuria have lost family and friends due to one form of this disease or another. The disease does not discriminate and any contribution helps research in reducing risk. Every mile completed will represent determination, commitment and a drive to make a difference.
The route will take him from the rugged coastline of Holyhead, through the heart of rural Wales along Cycle Route 8, into the capital, and finally to the seafront finish at Barry Island. Every mile will demand discipline, determination and careful recovery, especially with minimal time between stages.
Taking on 256 miles in six days is no small feat. The months ahead will involve intense training, preparation and mental focus — and your support can make a real difference.
