New regulations for non-domestic waste producers to segregate their waste comes into force from April 6th 2024. This means as a waste supplier we have a responsibility to ensure that waste is collected separately and kept separately and not mixed or landfilled at any point.
Please see the following link for the most up to date information regarding this update.

In preparation for these regulation changes coming into effect Procuria will longer be accepting any new orders for Dry Mixed Recycling (DMR) containers effective from November 1st 2024.
Moving forward, we have containers available for the following waste streams for all bin sizes;
We also have Glass and Food bins available in the usual sizes as we already offer these.
From December 1st 2023 our suppliers will also be introducing a new 140lt container into our range, so we have even more flexibility within our services offering.
All services will continue to be offered on either a weekly or fortnightly service schedule.
For any existing DMR bins in the field, and indeed for any sites without the required waste streams currently in place to meet the new regulations. If we have not received revised orders/instructions there is 2 potential issues;
Once the legislation takes effect, we will have to take a strict stance on contamination as the law cuts no leeway. Where contamination occurs, we will attend site, NOT lift the bin but still charge for this wasted event. The charge will be equal to the full lift rate(s). We will of course photograph evidence of the contamination where possible.
If customers fail to comply then they are exposed to fines of up to £500 per waste stream if we were to collect contaminated waste.
Given the above, we would encourage all customers to implement the required changes asap and prior to April 6th 2024. This will allow us to help educate you as a customer where contamination occurs and during this period we would be able to apply a degree of tolerance and still empty bins that have small contamination in an effort to allow information to be relayed to customers without disrupting service.
We understand that these are significant changes and we will work with all of our customers as much as possible to ensure a smooth transition, there is the opportunity for a period of education and tolerance as outlined above. The new regulations will undoubtedly put extra cost pressure on waste operators to invest in more containers, extra vehicles, drivers and operatives as well as also making changes at transfer stations and recycling centres to ensure that all waste streams are correctly handled and processed. But to help reduce costs you may find that a reduction in your general waste container will help mitigate some of the cost of implementation.
